Different perspectives. Driving toward a goal is not the opposite of contentment; it is contentment. Everyone finds joy in the relentless pursuit of “something.” Maybe your something is people; maybe it's properties; maybe it's pricing. Maybe it’s another pursuit, and real estate supports you. No one pursuit is more noble than another. But there's a key to finding contentment with ambition: Real contentment is born out of ambition without expectations. Expectations are the nasty side of ambition. Expectations drain the contentment out of the ambition. Drop the expectations and you start to enjoy the steps without worrying about the finish line. This means doing the task for the task’s sake.
This doesn’t mean you need to love every moment of the pursuit; some days aren’t your best. But, you’re proud of the steps you’re taking, regardless of how small.
